Will the mask mandate be re-implemented?

Unless NYC puts in a city-wide mandate (mandate, not advisory) I highly doubt it will before the end of this month, now that multiple official announcements have been made that they aren't required, there's inevitably people who have been waiting for that update to return. You can't put toothpaste back in the tube. If people are told they don't have to wear masks in theatres for the month of July, they're gonna go with that expectation. (Regardless of their personal decision to wear one or not). Not to mention that (to my knowledge) shows are no longer employing Covid safety managers, so even if the mandate were put back, they'd either have to scramble to hire people, or enforcement would be entirely up to the ushers - who have so much to do as it is.

After this month, I think it's quite possible, but again, once people have gotten used to the mandate being dropped, they'll likely have an even harder time of enforcing it than they originally did.

It's been my observation that audiences are voluntarily wearing their masks anyhow.

HRC was wearing her mask the other night at POTUS. 😀
