Anyone sat in them? I've heard that it's hard to actually see the actors, but other people say it's totally fine. I need a real opinion from someone who actually sat there. Help!
My question was just answered on another forum. My apologies.
I'll post my thoughts/experience here, just in case anyone else is interested.
I bought my ticket Wednesday for this afternoon's show (gotta love being able to buy in advance!) and it was in the front row, on the side. I'm not sure if all the rush tix are in the front row or not, but I'm kind of thinking they might be since they're a bit obstructed in some scenes. I'd read elsewhere that this problem exists up to a few rows back too, so I guess it's not a bad deal at all considering the price. Defintely worth it, despite the couple parts that were pretty obstructed (while there are obviously several scenes in the classroom that are obstructed by desks, it didn't really bother me unless someone was saying something and they were obstructed, which didn't happen often enough to make it really frustrating or unbearable).
Good luck getting tix. I think they're only on sale through the 30th...not sure if they'll still have them (or some sort of different policy) after that, or if they'll discontinue it, since the show is selling so well. If I didn't have so much stuff to do, I'd be tempted to buy a ticket to see it again this week, just so I'd know I could get another visit in (though I suppose there's always standing room).
Thanks for sharing, mabel... I feel a lot better now (I have a ticket for Wednesday and am reaallllly looking forward to seeing the show)
Wow, I said "obstrcted" WAY too many times there.
And yet, I'm too lazy to go change some of them.
Where is your seat? I was in A 1, which I loved, because there were several scenes where the boys could be seen off on the left side (still in the classroom, while the rest of the scene was going on elsewhere) which I found interesting to glance in on every once in a while.
What were the actors doing when they were on the side? Were they acting or just shmoozing? hehe!
I have BB110... I'm on the tall side, so I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope I'll be able to see most of it
They were acting, senortenor. Some taking some notes, some chatting a bit (but still seemingly in character). I think there were 3 or so times that they could be seen there (most of the scenes that took place in the headmaster's office).
Good luck and enjoy, Frenzy. I'm sure you're height can't hurt! I'm on the short side, and it wasn't too terrible, so I would tend to think you should be ok for most of it...Strange, I just looked at the seating chart, and it would appear that my seat should have been in the second row (being A), but I was in the front)...anyway, you should be about where I was, across the aisle. I think maybe even just hopping the ailse might help out with the tables some...hard to tell, thinking about it.
Keep us posted!

Got a ticket for BB for next Saturday. Am I OK?
Where is your seat in BB? Is it in the center, or on the side? Either way, I think you should be OK. While you probably won't see everything that close, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd anticipated after reading some reviews on talkinbroadway. I was afraid it would be like Dracula all over again (though missing out on this would be significantly more upsetting than missing anything about Dracula). All I saw for that were these heads (and if I was lucky and they were downstage) the occasional torso go floating by. Isn't the theater where Tarzan is playing (wasn't that one of the slew of theaters that got renamed? I forget what it is now) supposed to have a really crappy first row?
I guess some are just better than others and some spots in those close rows are better than others. I'll just say, I was on the side, in the front row, and the obstructions there were, weren't nearly as distracting and annoying as I'd anticipated. Maybe I shouldn't talk it up so much. I have a feeling a lot of the reason that I ended up so happy with my seat was that I went in with such very low expectations.
