I was listening to the Actor's Fund Benefit recording of Hair (which by the way, I love) and was astounded by the last note in Initials. What note was that?
Either a Q or an R flat.
No Diva, it's a J. Duh!
The LAST note in INITIALS?
As when they sing "FBIC IALS DLII BEEEE J?" That's not high at all, it's only a C.
I think she's referring to Laura's ending note, which is really high.

Whenever you hear a high sounding note in musical theatre, it's usually a B5! Then again, I know that "I Believe in Love" goes up higher than that, so it's probably higher in "Initials" too. I've never heard the song, so I dunno.
I think it's a high C. I'm not by a piano, though.
Laura does indeed go to the high C. On the OBCR (and I would imagine most other recordings/productions) the song ends one octave lower, but of course this is a special recording, and divas being what they are...
