How is XANADU Financially?
#1How is XANADU Financially?
Posted: 8/5/07 at 5:28pmI'm just wondering because I read that the running costs of the show are in the low $200,000's. How, I wonder, is the show making money if (and I could be wrong here) only 50% of the profits go to the producers?

Oh, wait...
Never mind. I was under the impression that only half of the money earned each week went to running costs. My mistake.
Okay, here's my next question: Is A CHORUS LINE's weekly costs ONLY about $23,000? I ask this after calculating it based on the week the show earned back its investment (announced on February 21).
Is it just because it's a bare stage with a mirror? Or is there more to the set - I haven't seen the show.

Yeah, it seemed a bit odd.
I just calculated again; if we're assuming that the producers receive 50% of the weekly gross, and not adding the gross for the week it recouped (assuming it recouped a day or two before the producers announced it), the weekly cost again comes to about $23,110 or something.
The confusion continues...
