Sometimes tkts adds great seats right before curtain so you never know what you might get, early or late in line.
I would still try rushing if I were you
Thank you all for the replies. I think what I'll do is try for Rush that morning if it works out (i.e. if we are hanging around Times Square at that time) and if not, then see what it costs at TKTS.
The thing is my DD is younger so we may have to leave at intermission ....so really don't want to pay too much (but we both LOVE Mamma Mia and Act 1 is the better act).
Have her take a nap. Leaving a show early, especially a good one, is an idiotic thing to do unless you are having a medical crisis.

Yeah, she won't want to leave anyways as she loves Mamma Mia (saw it a few months ago and she sings all the songs). The walk back to our hotel will be rough though. (She's way past the nap stage)
PS - We're seeing it next Spring on a cruise, but if we could catch it in NY another time, then bonus...esp as it's leaving Broadway

Seriously, there's no such thing as 'way past the nap stage'. Naps are awesome at any age, especially if you're spending the whole day out and about and then having a late night.

I'm not sure what your price range is, but there is also a discount code MMBX002 from BroadwayBox available if the other options mentioned don't work out:
http://www.broadwaybox.com/shows/mamma-mia/
And I agree on having her take a nap if it's possible. I'm in my 30s and I try to take a nap during the day if I know I'm going to have a long night ahead of me!

Thanks for the link. The "deal" tickets are still $145 a piece for the Friday night show, which is more than I wanted to pay.
Did u get tickets?
Last night I noted partial view tickets for Curious Incident up on TKTS at 7:15 pm. Is this unusual?

Not sure if it is unusual, but I have seen it put on the board closer to show time also partial view.

Thanks. Will probably try if we in the area in the morning.
Just got my Visa statement for our pre-purchased theatre tickets and yikes (converted to CAD so it's even worse). How does anyone afford theatre anymore?

rush, TDF, Goldstar, other discount sites not to be named.
MmFan, did u get tickets to mamma Mia? If so, how?

no. I bought tickets to Matilda for 4 of us. So am thinking "maybe" trying either rush or TKTS for Mamma Mia with my daughter.
we did see it though in May (not Broadway) and will be seeing it next May in a cruise which is why I'm not for sure going in NY (but sad it's leaving)

Good luck! Try rushing, and if that doesn't work, try asking (at the box office window) if the discount code I posted earlier can work. It sounds like that code didn't apply for the performance you were looking at, but there have been times box offices told me and used a working code when the code I provided didn't work.

Thanks. When I looked again, I noticed that no discounts came up for Friday night, whereas if I checked Thursday night/day, some seats showed in orange (meaning discount). We are travelling to NY on a Thursday so think my 6 year old would have an easier time staying up the following night (which is Friday). We're already seeing Saturday matinee and leave Sunday.
