How long will RENT stay open?

Any ideas? I LOVE THE SHOW and I am just curious if it is becoming dated?

re: How long will RENT stay open?

There are so many threads on this. The topic has become dated. Use the search feature. It's very helpful.

As for your username: Matt_G already has the copyright on names with Matt and a letter in them. Don't infringe.

re: How long will RENT stay open?

I saw it the other day, and it really isn't as bad as a lot of people have said. I was very impressed with the cast, and now that Drew LaShay (sp?) is in, ticket sales should get a little boost. It is a shame that they replaced Matt Caplin, who was very good, but if the show needs a pick up, than I won't complain.

Zoran....I am interested in finding out what people think today this very minute......old threads are old.

I don't think it is all that dated yet, but it just seems that the quality is slipping, and I hate that.

re: How long will RENT stay open?

i still don't think it's in any danger. it still has an audience.

And the reason you use search is politeness ofr other people. it may be easier for YOU, but other people would appreciate it if the same questions weren't answered over and over!

Yeah, but if you don't want to answer a question, you don't have to. No one is twisting your arm to do so.

If that's the case Zoran, don't keep responding. Your obviously reading them after all.

re: How long will RENT stay open?

The first time I saw Rent was only about two and a half years ago. The cast was Jai (I won't even attempt to spell his last name), Manley Pope, and Trey Ellet. I loved it, and thought it was a really good cast (minus Manley Pope, but I can't ever be perfectly happy.) It didn't seem "tired" at all, but I have seen it since and it was loosing quality.
By the way, does anyone know whatever happen to Trey Ellet? I heard he did a tour of TTB for a while but that's been a while.

"Rodriguez" is hard to spell for a person named "Chrysanthemum?"

re: How long will RENT stay open?

LOL! The only reason I can spell Chrysanthemum is because I've watched the movie Anne of Green Gables ten billion times.

re: How long will RENT stay open?

As much as some people won't like it, with a fresh marketing scheme, and a cast of talented unknowns, Rent could get huge again. Yes, I know that was what they originally did, but it could work again. Yes, some references are getting a little dated, but the show is timeless, IMO. AIDS is still a problem today, and Rent does a great job of drawing attention to the subject.

However, don't ask me what that new marketing approach could be, I didn't pay the slightest bit of attention in Marketing class in High School lol.

re: How long will RENT stay open?

I think that, and I'll probably get killed for this, the OBC needs to come back and show some these NO talented people how RENT is supposed to be preformed! Not all of the people in it are bad, but some are! Some of you will probably say that the OBC is to old to do it, maybe, but they sure as hell are the only people that know how to do RENT the RIGHT WAY!!!

Just my 2 cents.

That felt good!
