This year I've seen 16 different musicals (but I've been to see musicals 19 times): Hairspray (2 times), Little Women, The Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q, RENT, Wicked, Spamalot, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Light in the Piazza, Sweeney Todd (3 times), The Woman in White, Sweet Charity, Chicago, See What I Wanna See.
This is the first year I've seen that many. It used to be about two per year. Updated On: 12/4/05 at 07:59 PM
Hahah never. Actually, I've seen three this year (two in Boston, one on Broadway) so that's not bad. I'm a poor high school student who doesn't live in New York. What can I say?
I see community theatre all the time though.

This year I saw Wicked twice and Rent once. Off Broadway I saw See What I Wanna See, but that's about it. I would definitely like to go more often, I just don't have the funds.
"Will the world remember you when you fall?" Les Miserables
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
girlfortartaglia- definitely, ive been looking forward to sweeney for sooooo long i cannot wait to see it! i am such a big sondheim fan (but lets not go down that road) yeah thats probably going to be the highlight of seeing shows this winter. then its back to the SAV where i starve myself of any bway contact for another 10 weeks... some tours come through to the civic center, TMM was on tour there a few wks ago but we had finals. plus i saw millie 3 times while it was at the marquis.

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
pro shows (and workshops): 22 concert/cabaret/opera: 13 amateur shows: 6
and because it's more fun, by city:
Melbourne (Australia): 26 Sydney (Australia): 4 (Hats Off, Rosie, Summer Rain, The Hatpin) San Francisco: 1 (Wicked) New York: 10 (Wicked x4, Rent, Sweet Charity, But I'm a Cheerleader, and then some concerty type things)
That's the same as last year, give or take two or so. But last year was 100% Melbourne, gah. 2003 by comparison was more like...6, lol.
