I kind of want to see it. Was thinking of seeing it when i go to NYC in a few months. But there are really soo many shows I'd like to see over it.
How is the touring cast specifically?? And worth it?
They were good, but some new replacements start soon.

Most of the leads are VERY strong, along with the ensemble.

DottieD'Luscia,
what replacements? do you know who is leaving?
From what I understand there is a new Link.. I'm not sure if he has started yet or not though.. He's very talented as a singer I dont know about as a dance though.
Someone posted last week, there will be a new Link, Penny (Caissie Levy, who played Tammy), Amber, Tammy, Shelley, Tracy standby, Edna, Wilbur, Inez. I think this is the last week in Philly to see the present cast before the new members start.
Aaron Tveit, a former Steve on the Collins tour is going to be the new Link. He has a great voice from what I remember of his "Will I?" solo.
When is the current cast's last day? I might try and rush to it on Saturday.
Swifty, when are you going in Boston...I'm gonna try to see them in Boston too!

It looks like they are currently working on updating the new cast on the official site. Hayley Podschun is now playing Tammy, so lets hope Caissie Levy is really playing Penny now! Jim J. Bullock is now playing Wilbur.

Yep, here is what a member posted last week:
From the offical Hairspray board:
Yes, Chandra will be leaving us after her last performance on September 4. Our new Penny will be Caissie Levy, who has been playing Tammy in the ensemble. The new Tammy is Hayley Alyse Podschun.
BTW, on September 6, we will also have a few other new cast members:
Amber - Tara Macri (from the Toronto cast)
Link - Aaron Tveit
Inez - Naturi Naughton
Shelley - Amy Hillner
Tracy standby - Christine Danelson
And, for the record, we'll have new Turnblad parents on August 30. John Pinette and Stephen DeRosa are moving to the Broadway cast; the new Edna and Wilbur are J.P. Dougherty (who filled in for John for a few months this summer) and Jim J. Bullock (who's been playing Mr. Pinky on Broadway).

I thought they were overall good, but sometimes they sound alittle weak.
If this is the same Amy Hillner, then she is John Hillner's daughter.
