I'm sure he will be there to promote X-Men The Last Stand, coming out May 26, but I'm sure Jay will ask him stuff about Broadway and probably BFO and Hugh beating Jay for the Emmy Award. Maybe he'll even ask when he's coming back to Broadway.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if he were to announce that he's hosting the Tonys for the fourth consecutive time? That would set a record, wouldn't it? I know some people would like to see somebody else do it, but realistically, who else has the chops and enthusiasm for such a task? Nathan and Matthew were terribly boring, Oprah (wisely) turned it down, and Rosie is on to "The View." Hugh loves Broadway, and it shows. Personally, I can't wait until he (hopefully) does the talked-about revival of PAL JOEY. ("Half-pint imitation" could be re-scripted to "low-rent.") Sorry, Larry Hart.

There are 6 Hugh movies for release this year - but he is also finding time to go back to the theatre for the arena version of THE BOY FROM OZ in his homeland. So, it wouldn't be surprising if he and Jay talk about both aspects of his career.

Hugh Jackman will NOT host this year's Tonys. He is filming a movie at the same time and has turned down the offer. Don't hold your breath that he will ever do it again.

What movie is he filming? He's not filming anything right now and "The Prestige" finished filming April 8. He does need to be in Australia for his dad's birthday in June and I suppose rehearsals for Boy from Oz start June/July, but as far as I know he's not filming another movie between now and his BFO tour.

He did mention having a "Hollywood lunch" ( whatever that means
) with Oliver Stone during the Jay Leno interview. If there is a movie project under discussion, that will most likely not take place anytime soon. Also, the new Spike Lee movie that he is supposed to be attached to ( on Max Schmeling/Joe Louis) won't be filming until late fall.
Whether he does the TONYs or not this year - Hugh has already shown how ready he was to serve the theatre community, with his 3-year stint. He has even won an EMMY for the American Theatre Wing/League of Theatres and Producers for best variety show on television.
