Does anyone know any showtunes that are what I'm calling, (for lack of a better word), hybrid songs? By this, I mean that several characters each kind of are singing their own unrelated song as they all come together it makes for a really cool effect.
It's kind of awkward to explain, but examples that come to mind that I really like include:
Christmas Bells --Rent
Blackout--In the Heights (also the end of 96000 and part of finale have this same thing going on).
and if anyone knows the actual term for what I'm calling a 'hybrid song,' please let me know so i don't continue to sound like an idiot, haha.
