I just saw this show on Sunday on a bit of a whim, and I just wanted to recommend it. It isn't perfect, but it is a great time, and has a great cast. Farrah Alvin is amazing, as an actor, singer, and just a nice woman (she gave me directions to the subway). The score is weak at times, but there are a few songs that are so beautiful that they make the others seem even better (if that makes sense).

I don't think it's a show for everyone, but if you like the musical style of "Avenue Q" with a bit more emotion and the look and feel of "Men, The Musical" I think you'll like this.

Strangely, I thought Stephanie's performance was the weakest. She basically played Kate Monster all over again, sans puppet. Same voice, same moves, etc. Weird.

I loved this show, too. Great cast (though I agree about Stephanie), great score. And a really cute story (the gender reversal Pride and Prejudice thing worked a LOT better than I thought it would) It's a really fun show. And, frankly, it's a better musical than a LOT of the shows currently on Broadway...

Agreed, much better than many Broadway shows. I'll probably agree with that statement even more after I see "Ring of Fire" on Saturday. Uy.

I was at Sunday's performance as well! Barrett Hall was great as the NYC Man. Where was Jordan Leeds? I think i read somewhere he was doing some reading or workshop of something. Anyone know what?
I also LOVE Farah Alvin, her CD is amazing (and only ten bucks!). I still completely enjoy Stephanie, i like that this character is somewhere in between Kate and Lucy... like steph said in the video interview on their website, how she isnt the good girl and isnt the bad girl......
Any news on a recording?

Farrah said they are in talks with four different labels about a recording. Are you on the mailing list? They said to sign up for that and they'd email when it was coming out. I bought farrah's CD, too but haven't yet listened to it yet.

And I got a free strawberry-flavored condom that said "I love you Because You wear one" on it. They were in a bowl by the mailing list sign-up.

And I just meant that Stephanie did they same voice, same inflections. It's her cute littel schtick, and I think it isn't very believable. And her voice was rather wably. But she looked great.

I saw the show Monday night, and completely agree newsieboy that Barrett Hall was great as NYC Man! Farah's album IS great. I love that it is original music. From my understanding the cast has been fighting colds over the past couple of weeks. They sound 10 times better than I do even when i am well. The show is great, and so cute. I have seen it a few times now! I look forward to a cast recording.

My review of "I LOVE YOU BECAUSE" today at 3:00. This is not going to be a thorough review, however.

The Village Theatre was not what I expected. I've seen plenty off Broadway shows and it just wasn't a good theatre- especially for this show. Personally, I don't think any seats were 'good.'

Barrett Hall was in for David Austin. He wasn't bad, but I could definitley tell he was an understudy. The other actors kind of 'pushed him' into doing his part. He didn't seem to have it all down. I'm not saying that to rat on him, I know the show is still new so understudies haven't had much of a chance.

I have to admit, I liked Stephanie much better in Avenue Q. I think she did her part as Diana well, I just think she's not quite fit for it. Maybe because it's still new...who knows?
There were some parts where I thought she was bringing her Kate Monster voice and attitude into it. However, there was no way she was 'bad.'

Colin Hanlon was pretty well up to par. There were times I had trouble unterstanding him but overall, he was quite impressive.

Now, Farah (Marcy)- she blew me away! Her acting was phenominal and her singing was so energetic. If there was one person that 100% knew and was committed to their character, it was definitely her!

Jordan Leeds and Courtney Balan were good. I think Courtney was a touch better- she seemed more sure of herself. But, Jordan as the Chinese waiter did go pretty well and got some good laughs.

Overall, it was a good show. I guess what really bothered me the most was the theatre.
Persoanlly, I don't think it would do well on a Broadway stage but maybe a different kind of theatre (small) would be good. Like the theatre Forbidden Broadway plays at.

The restaurant we went to after was fantastic! And pretty well priced. The bread was out of this world, they had regular bread and bruschetta ...I could have had that as my meal alone. But, I got garlic and olive oil pasta and it was delicious! My aunt had ravioli and she loved it, especially the red sauce. My mom and grandmother shared a huge veal chop. The bill came to $52.77. I would recommend that restaurant anytime!!

I saw it the other night. I thought it was cute, if a bit cliched at times. The score is fun and poppy, and everyone in the cast sang their asses off. I agree that Stephanie's performance was very much like her Avenue Q performance, but I didn't mind that.
