Hey All,
Im sure you have heard all this before, but here goes. I am a college student second, broadway fanatic first. I am dying to see 'night mother, and am curious as to obtaining rush tix. For rush tix in general, do you have to always be at the B.O. when it opens? Where do you sit generally, with rush tix? Does it vary from theater to theater? Thanks all.

When buying rush, I'd try to go during times when tickets don't sell well- winter and Wednesday matinees are best. You usually don't have to be at the BO as soon as it opens, but you have a greater chance of getting seats, I guess. I'd try to get there in the early afternoon at least. I've had rush seats that ranged from the front row- which is better at a play than at a musical- to front row center of the mezzanine, which was absolutely perfect- to the far right of the theater, which really obscured my sightlines. It depends on how well a show is selling. So look up your Playbill numbers to get a good idea of what you're in for. :)

if you live in NY or nearby, it's worth it to just join TDF. it's only $25 a year and you get access to a bunch of show tickets for $20-$30 each that can be booked online in advance. that's how I saw 'night mother, cost $28 for 3rd row mezz
