"I Picked a Daisy" was supposed to be a collaboration between Richard Rodgers (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics), which would have been a wonderful thing. They really should have worekd together.
However, their work styles were apparently sufficiently different that they couldn't collaborate, and Lerner later collaboratred with Burton Lane on the same idea, which made it to Brodway as "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever".
Does anyone know how far Rodgers and Lerner got on"I Picked a Daisy" and how much of their collaboation survives?
