Yesterday, I went to Barnes and Noble and bought TABOO. Ok, I was really trying to talk myself out of it, because it was a muscial by Boy George (and I like Boy George.....but I also like ABBA but HATE HATE Mamma Mia). But, I gave in and bought it. I popped it into my cd player and haven't taken it out since. It is SOOOOOOO good. Euan Morton has a great voice and Raul Esparza........we all know he rocks. My favorite song on the recording is "Stranger in This World." What a GORGEOUS song, huh? I also think the fast songs are not as good as the slow ones, but they all rock my socks. But, yes. I am now a TABOO convert. Just wanted to let everyone know.
YAY! Welcome to the World of Taboo!!! TABOO is absolutely amazing. I haven't listened to anything else in months!! The music is beautiful, and so.... WOW!
So glad you liked it!
Cool! The cast recording has gotten such good reviews, I think I'm gonna buy it too. But could you discern the storyline from the recording, or is it just a collection of good music?
Um....you kind of can tell what it is about, but it is basically just a bunch of songs (great songs though)

glad to be a "freak." It is fun.
Everyone should have this CD in their possession. I. LOVE. IT.
Is it just me, or when "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" starts.........do you want to start singing the Folgers coffee commercial? lol
Now you've made me want to go check!
I love this recording, the songs are so funny/moving.
Favorites:
Love is a Question Mark
Petrified (Raul can do no wrong.)
Stranger in This World
Talk Amongst Yourselves

Spider, yes it does make me want to sing the Folgers song and you are a loser for noticing that! LOL
I did the exact same thing!
My friends were talking about Taboo and how the music was so great, so I bought it on a whim.
I think it's simply wonderful. I wish I had seen it when I was in NYC.
Ok, while "Stranger in this World" is my ULTIMATE fav. in the show, I also love:
"Safe in the City"
"Petrified"
"Talk Amongst Yourselves"
"Pretty Lies"
"Guttersnipe"
"Love is a Question Mark"
"Sexual Confusion"
and evalmost every other song in the show. I don't really like the songs Boy George sings. Oh well!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!
My biggest regret is not having seen it.
But, as someone said in the "Taboo vocal selection" thread, it might be coming back in 5 years.
Oh, I know I am a loser........no secret there. lol. Also, "Sexual Confusion" has kind of a "Tear Me Down" from Hedwig feel to it as well.
"Sexual Confusion" is good, and "I'll Have Them All" is HILARIOUS!
"Ode to an Attention Seeker/Freak" is the greatest.
I'll name my favorites too:
Stranger in This World
Dress to Kill (this song is SOOOOO cool to me!)
Genocide Peroxide
Sexual Confusion
Guttersnipe
Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?
Talk Amongst Yourselves
Petrified (SQUEAL!!!)
Out Of Fashion
So basically the whole CD. God.
Is this music all original (except for Karma Chameleon) or is it all Boy George's old music?
Ok, which is better

Hahaha, I love the title of this topic. I must say, when I first read it this is not what I was expecting. I thought it had to do with sexuality. Maybe my mind is just in the gutter lol. Anyway, yeah I love Taboo. Spider, i love ur icon!
Don't you though. It is like Catherine is begging you to give her a sponge bath. lol. And get your mind out of that gutter......or wait till I get there.
If we're all jumping into the gutter, might as well count me in!

Well, I try. And I just tried to jump in the gutter myself but tripped in the process and bruised my legs. I am so accident prone. Here, let me try again. *jumps in*
