SammyGal, you rock my world as well. Isn't it freaky how much Euan looks like Boy George in that make-up? In the cd booklet, at the picture where they are all standing together.......you see Boy George and Euan standing side by side and it is like looking into a time travel mirror. ICH BIN WEIRD!!!

I love to rock people's worlds!!
I know, it's so scary!! But now that I've seen Euan so many times I can tell it's Euan but during the initial viewing, I had to do a double take.
awww Georgie and Euan <333
I really I wish I jumped on this bandwagon long before now. Oh well.......better late than never, right?

Glad you found the Taboo CD:) I have loved my London Recording for a very long time.

Overall, I think I like the London recording slightly better, but that may just be because I got it first and was already into it when the Broadway version arrived.
Boy Georgre reunited with the rest of Culture Club for an episode of "Storytellers" on VH-1 several years ago, and I still remember it. I had totally dimissed him and the band as products of hype and image. Watching the "Storytellers" episode convinced me I was totally wrong. Boy George is a top notch songwriter whose image kept him from getting the recognition he deserved. I don't know if this Storytellers episode is available on tape or DVD anywhere, but I would really recommend it for Taboo fans.

YAY Spider!! Taboo's score is so beautiful... it's unbelievable.
awesome taboo rocks
Tower Records accidentally marked the Taboo CD as only $14.99 instead of $18.99 so I decided to get it instead of Once on This Island and boy am I ever so glad. "Come In From the Outside" is my favorite song. What a great finale. I wish I could have seen the show, but at least the second time around the show will have a better book...hopefully.

go Taboo fans go!
and yes Spider, Better Late Than Never! :)
Today in the car I tried to explain to my mother the wonder that was Taboo. I made her listen to Petrified.... still no luck. Her loss.

Her loss indeed!
OK,OK,OK I've been trying to get the Broadway Cast CD for a couple of weeks (it has only just been released here, Australia). I've read three great reviews in local papers, have enquired at about 5 stores all tell it'll be in soon. Not good enough! Everyone on the board is raving about it! I'm getting anxious, so, I'll give these store a couple more days then it's Amazon here I come.

Info:
Karma Chameleon/Church Of The Poisoned Mind and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, are old Culture Club songs. Il Adore and Genocide Peroxide can be found on BG solo albums from the mid/late 90s. The rest, I believe were all written for Taboo, with Fame Game, Dress To Kill, Sexual Confusion, and Come On In From The Outside, written during the Broadway rehearsal period.

Yay Spider! I am a recent convert as well. Church of the Taboo mind, anyone? I had doubts, but the score is brilliant. It was robbed of Best Score, as was Raul... but that's another rant. I don't really like Boy George's solos, but I love everything else.

Howzabout some props to John McDaniel, the musical force who arranged all the music for the show as well as the CD, and produced the CD...? He's also the musical force behind BKLYN, which everyone on this site is dissing up one side and down the other before they've heard the whole thing...just a heads up for all you doubters.

go John McDaniel!!
As well as Kevan Frost, he co-wrote most of the music. He's an awesome Englishman.

Thanks to them! So how come Boy George is credited with all the music (except for the fine print) if these other guys did so much?
It's all collaborative. Especially with so many rewrites, I guess a lot of people got a say in the music.

because Boy George was the name to attract people since he's famous.
But Kevan is George's right-hand man. He's been his guitarist for awhile and he was at the signing with everyone because George thought he should be.
