Seriously? I do not understand this obsession with Rent. It's an important work of theatre but beyond that I just don't understand.

I have favorites myself but I don't run around posting that they're better than everything else.

Of all the comments on Facebook to be taken seriously, this is probably one of the most innocuous. Like BWW, it is a person's opinion. So what?

PS - Tonys. No apostrophe needed unless we're talking about something that belongs to Tony or we're trying to say "Tony is...".

I have no problem admitting that RENT is my personal favorite show of all time (partly because of sentimental reasons). But even I would not go THAT far. At all. haha.


I wish people would realize that it's possible to love and adore a show with all your heart, but still recognize that there are other ones out there that are just as great :)

Eh...I can think of several Tony performance I have seen that I would have preferred to see my favorite show perform again. And I can definitely think of many nominated musicals in recent years that were arguably less important than Rent. It doesn't mean I think Rent should be performed every year, but people have preferences and shows have fans. Personally, I think the comment is sort of cute. Silly, but cute.
