I'll be in the city - RENT - problem?
#1I'll be in the city - RENT - problem?
Posted: 6/16/08 at 12:31amOkay, so my cousin's getting married in West Orange, NJ next week and West Orange seems kind of well, boring, so I decided to stay in the city for a few days (New York). Anyway, I'm staying at the Barclay InterContinental on East 48th Street. I have never seen "Rent" before. Just the movie. This could be my last chance to see the original run of "Rent" on Broadway. I know that I would regret it so much if I didn't see it, but how far is the Nederlander from where I'm staying. Also, is the current cast good? I haven't seen a lot of people on BWW raving about it. I know that I can get it at TKTS, so money's not an issue. Also, I want to see 2 shows, so what else should I see. I have already seen (of what's on Broadway now), "The Phantom of the Opera", "Wicked", "A Chorus Line", "Mary Poppins", "The Lion King", "Legally Blonde", and I have seen the tours of "Hairspray" and "Mamma Mia". I want to see a show that I haven't seen on Broadway or tour. I'm interested in seeing "Gypsy" and "In the Heights". Although, "South Pacific" looks great, I really don't feel like going up to Lincoln Center. Recommendations? Is "Rent" worth seeing?

Posted: 6/16/08 at 12:39amOkay, it's only 5 minutes away. TDH, of course it's legal. I would never support illegal productions.
