As my senior service project (community service project for high school seniors at my school with a high enough GPA who get to miss the rest of the year to do a project benefiting the community or some organization) my friend and i are putting on a cabaret/showcase with songs, monologues, and scenes w/ the theme of love and togetherness.
if anyone knows of any song, monologues, and scenes- particularly the latter two- please post here. i would really appreciate it greatly.
thanks!

I know this is probably not what you are looking for at all, but:
A couple of years ago, I helped a student of mine with the same objective as you are presenting.(for the community, and to be excused from classes) I helped her get started on a production of "Free To Be, You And Me". I don't know if you would know about this, because it was way before your time, but it was a book, a special and a record conceived by Marlo Thomas. It was designed to help kids explore, understand and embrace diversity. It also teaches kids to have confidence in who they are. (I know it may sound corny and trite) Its a little dated at times, but is great, and the kids ate it up. You can involve some others from the community, and take it to some local schools.
There was also a sequel, Free To Be A Family, which explored the different aspects and kinds of families.
Good stuff.

I'm sorry i didn't go in depth enough.
We're auditioning more people in the cast and we need to think of the monologues and scenes that we want people to perform. We've got enough songs. But if anyone could help with scenes or monologues, it would reallyyyy help.

Roulette (Janine's Monologue)
The Odd Couple (forgot the author) There's a bunch of mixed scenes. I'm currently doing a scene between Florence and Olive. Quite funny those two. You should find a bunch in that play.
If you're looking for comedy, demeaning Shakespeare is always fun :).
Have someone read Hamlet/R&J as dramatic and Shakespeare-ic as possible and have someone "translate" into...I dunno...Redneck talk, ghetto talk, etc. It's fun :)
