It was incredibly well done! I just have a few questions. In the playbill, under Bob Martins credits, at the end, it says "Bob is happily married to Janet van de Graaf" Who is he really married to? That confused my friends and I. Another question: why is the wedding at Mrs. Tottendale's home? How is she related to the characters in the show? Same with Aldolpho. I just used my imagination and thought of possiblities. Does anybody know where I can send a note to the backstage door? I met Bob Martin and I told him that "he made a fun drunk" and he cracked up and said that he liked my style. I also met the two gangsters....who were absolutely adorable! I also met Felzig and Tottendale, and boy were they sweet. I was a little upset that I didn't get to meet Sutton, Danny, Beth or Peter but, that's why I want to get the address from a kind soul. Thanks for your help and

Bob is married to a woman named Janet van de Graaf. The show was originally conceived as a wedding gift of sorts. As for the details, I think the plot holes are just there, part of the stated nonsensical aspects of the "original musical."
Also, your subject seems to leave out the title of the show, The Drowsy Chaperone :)

Yup, Bob's wife's name is Janet Van De Graaff, who is an actress herself. She's hysterical. If you go to www.airfarce.com, under episodes, you can check out some of her guest-star roles from 2002-ish.
Shameless plug over.
To send a letter to the cast, find the address to the Marquis (on almost any Broadway website), address an envelope, include a self-addressed, self-stamped envelope inside if you'd like something signed, and mail!

Posted: 2/19/07 at 7:26pmYeah, there were no understudies! I think I just found my new favorite musical!! My all time favorite song in "The Drowsy Chaperone" was "As we Stumble Along". Beth Leavel has an amazing voice! Does anybody know the address of the backstage door for the Marquis theater? That would be extremely helpful.

It was great someone even screamed, "Oh my god Oprah!!!" at the stage door (Audra rolled her eyes. It was fantastic I love her, she even signed the back of my program!).

I always think it's funny when people don't make the Robert Martin/Bob Martin connection...is it just me or is it not that obvious?
