I usually hate it when people do this....

I hate when people post these kinds of questions... but now I have one! I have an audition for Pippin was was told specific measures to prepare from "Corner of the Sky," but was also asked to prepare 16 bars of a song not from the show. The director said to try to find a song in the style of "Extraordinary." Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks! :)

Maybe he meant like an uptempo slightly comedic song? Tough kind to find though...

how about "What More Do I Need?" from Saturday Night. This Sondheim show is not that well known, but the song is known for being heart felt and still funny. It's a reall show stopper!

"Purpose" from Avenue Q. Someone mentioned it a while ago as an alternative to "Corner of the Sky" and it might fit the same voice part?
