#0I won the DRS lottery today!!

After seeing DRS at the end of August, I was eager to go see it again...especially because John was not in it when I first went to see it. So my mom and I went to the lottery...and yes...it was my first time doing a lottery. I was a little worried about the seats...because now they are in the boxes, but we gave it a whirl anyways...and we won!!! There weren't a lot of people there, which suprised me. For people who have seen the show, it was really exciting, because our box seats were on the right side, and we had a fantastic view *wink*. For anyone who thinks that the box seats are not good seats, they're wrong...they are amazing...we saw everything perfectly and they were actually better than our orchestra seats we had the first time. It was an amazing show, and there were several moments when the cast were cracking up, especially during "Here I Am" when Sherie threw the book and it didn't land right, and she had a hard time getting out the next few lyrics. Anyways, it was a blast as always, and this time I went to the stage door and got my pics with John, Norbert, and Greg, all of whom are wonderful. It was a great day!!

Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

Are the lottery seats still in the front row or did they move to the boxes.

They moved to the boxes.

I actually have front row seats for when I see it in November, so I am very excited.

I have second row seats for John's last show! re: I won the DRS lottery today!!

And Meagan, a month's a long time for you to not see the show either? Yaay for buddies, I actually went almost 2 months w/o seeing it and have now seen it 3 times in the last month. Gah, I love it.

Dear god I love this show. And I would really love to see it from the box seats!

ebonic: if you win, they are $25 plus $1.25 for some sort of fee thingy. so $26.25 all together. not bad price.

Man you're so lucky. If I could afford to trek to NYC and see DRS I would :P but instead I'm stuck in Wisconsin as always (boo hiss).

Dre, usually the TKTS tickets are 50% off w/ a bit of a charge so I think it's something like $53.25 for one ticket. Perhaps during the mmore popular times like Christmas, it will be 35% off and then $68.

filmgirl, thanks! So 25 people, and 6 of them each win 2 tickets (is that right, filmgirl?) -- even with a small turnout, you were still pretty lucky to win!

I wonder why they changed the seats and curtailed the number of seats. I guess it's because that lottery doesn't draw a whole lot of people. I've tried it twice randomly and didn't win, even though there weren't too many people there re: I won the DRS lottery today!!
By the way, I passed by the TKTS booth on Friday evening and DRS was available but only for 35% off.

My guess as to why they changed the seats would be because they were uncomfortably close to the stage. I won in late June and my husband and I had the 2 center seats - while we both enjoyed the show we were both incredibly uncomfortable, as our legs were pretty much hanging into the pit and everyone in the front row seemed to be sitting in each others' laps.

mikem...they have 16 seats...so basically 8 people winning two seats a piece...the odds were really good!
