Is anyone else going to INTO THE WOODS at NYU this weekend? I am so excited! It is the same group that did PARADE, NEW BRAIN and RAGTIME so they have the set the bar high.
Who else is going to check this out? It is rare to get to see a great production of this without stunt casting (Vanessa Williams).

Um, Vanessa Williams was not stunt cast. She was VERY good in Into The Woods. She has had other theatre credit to her name before Into The Woods. If you wanna talk about Stunt casting lets look at the Chicago and Cabaret revivals.

I'm working on this production, and I urge everyone to get down to Skirball and see it. It's really coming together, and the performers are really top notch. We're also including Our Little World, the additional song written for the London production.

True...Vanessa Williams is not stunt casting like say Paris Hilton but it is not like she is some Broadway Vet.

But that/this is not the point of this post...

Though it is beside the point, I have to agree: Vanessa Williams was certainly an asset to the Broadway revival of "Into the Woods."

While I agree that it wasn't stunt casting, I don't think she was very good.
