The Laurie Beechman Theatre is very pleased to continue our celebrated series, SCREENING SONDHEIM, featuring screenings of celebrated Sondheim productions. The series kicked off in February with the sold out debut of COMPANY, and continues on SATURDAY, MARCH 22 @ 8pm with the original Broadway production of INTO THE WOODS. At 8pm, we'll chat with JOY FRANZ, who created the role of Cinderella's Stepmother, a performance she repeated in the 2002 Broadway revival. We'll chat about the origins of the musical, the PBS taping and we're sure to hear some tasty backstage stories. Immediately following, we'll screen the production on our big screen. Join your fellow Sondheim fans for what will be memorable evening.

There is no cover charge for this event, and there is a two drink or $15 food/beverage minimum. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within The West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd St., in the heart of New York's theatre district. JOY FRANZ is beloved by theatre audiences for creating the role of Cinderella's Stepmother in the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS. Other Broadway credits include Guys and Dolls, Pippin, Open Admissions and Musical Chairs. Her numerous off Broadway and regional credits include Follies, Fair Game, Hats, Keith Redden's Brutality of Fact and many other roles throughout the country and in New York.

SCREENING SONDHEIM continues with Sunday in the Park with George (April 5 ), and Sweeney Todd (May 3).

just a follow up, because a few people have asked me. In case you missed it in the body of the original post, there is NO COVER CHARGE for this event, just the two drink or $15 minimum. Full bar and dinner menu is available.
