The IRNEs were held last night. Lots of jokes about the marathon being shorter than the awards ceremony. LOL
There was a great turnout. Everyone was all dressed up and celebrating Boston theater.
My favorite award went to Paula Plum and Nancy E. Carroll for Theater Partnership. They were so cute together! Paula apparently knew they were getting the award, but Nancy didn't. Nancy said she was planning to sit at home in her pajamas and eat egg rolls, but Paula made her come. They are Boston theater royalty. So glad to see them get a special bow together.
There were a couple of jabs at critics Louise Kennedy and Thomas Garvey that got the crowd groaning, too.
All in all a great night.
