BillFinn ~ I'm 5'6" and my chin rested on the standing room ledge at Mary Poppins. It wasn't comfortable, and if you were any shorter you wouldn't be able to see. As it is, the people who sit in the row right in front are literally directly in front of you, so you have to shift to the side to see anything. You're better off paying a little more for their balcony seats.

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
Point made, but seeing as they are Disney. A company with theme parks featuring thrill rides, where they have markers in the front (you must be THIS height to ride). It would be appropriate to have some type of sign in the box office, with an explanation. Common courtesy.
jigblob: Over the summer, Jersey Boys had a major problem with scalpers hiring students to wait in line at odd hours for rush tickets. The scalpers would then take those tickets and sell them for outrageous prices, which is unfair to the students who really want the tickets. Anyways, apparently a scalper cut a student in line. The student said something and was beaten up by the scalper. Luckily, after rushing him to the hospital, he was okay, and he even ended up seeing the show that night. By then it was clear why Jersey Boys got rid of their rush policy for the remainder of the summer. I believe they have since reinstated it.

While I don't agree with the entitlement policy, YF is selling well and there is a lotto. It really depends on the producers and in the past, Disney shows were better with rush and lotto. After Tarzan, the producers seemed to adopt SRO as the new policy and it sucks, but if it's selling well...

It also has to do with the particular house's capacity for SRO. Some of their setups (i.e. the Richard Rodgers) don't allow for it.
Cape: Tarzan also offered rear orch seats at times. They were obstructed view, as the mezzanine blocked some of the view, and some action was viewed on screens.
It wasn't "at times", like Company had student rush in the boxes weekend nights. Tarzan had front row rush in the beginning of previews. There were so many complaints from the people in rear orchestra (who paid full price), they switched the rush seats from the front row to the last row of the orchestra for the rest of the run. There was a huge uprising of sorts on BWW as a result; I don't know how you missed all that.

That may be so, but depending on what night you saw the show, you were sitting front row. They also started giving away side seats to as well because you missed a little...but to be honest it wasn't much. OUt of all the times I rushed the show, I only ever sat in the rear orchestra once. Most of the time it was front row or on the sides. Of course this was all within about the last 10 or so months of it's run, which was pretty much most of the run.
I didn't want to start a new thread, since you were already (sort of) talking about SRO. I understand that Jersey Boys now just has SRO (such a shame what happened over the summer). Can anyone provide information about what time you need to show up to get these tickets or where you actually stand during the show. It seems that JB is still a tough ticket to get and perhaps SRO is the only way to go for a cheap ticket. Any thoughts/advice on JB tickets would be appreciated.
