Okay so this is a really random question, but I was curious, since Idina is only in Wicked for a limited time, will it be her or Kerry who will be eligible for the Oliver Award (granted, if one is nominated)?
if that made no sense at all, which it might not because I sometimes just ramble, I can repeat it.
(I did post this on the West End board, but I figured since so many more people look here, it might get more hits and replies, hopefully)
I was wondering that too - good question. I would hope that Kerry gets a chance...
I would think since Idina is truly originating it, it would be her who was eligible, but could be TOTALLY wrong.

When I was just checking this thread this morning to see if anyone had replied, I looked at the title and noticed the missing I.. woops, I knew that.
I think this yr they could nominate Idina and nexxt yr with Kerry. THe Olivier's different from the Tonys'. I believe that the category doesnt nessa hav to be the equivalent year. Take My Fair Lady, Martine got her Olivier and then the next year Jo Riding got hers for the same role. It's the matter bout the producers putting names in apparently.
But yeah, Im sure both can be nominated.
I think they could both be eligiable. Certainly they'll both be eligable (in different categories) for the Whatsonstage awards.
You can indeed win an Olivier without originating. Although I think it unlikely that as much as the WE is loving Idina that it will overlook Jenna Russel's Dot, Elena Roger or the upcoming Caroline or Change....

Yes i would expect both to be nominated.

Not that many of us care, but why don't you mention in the thread title who the heck "Kerry" is.
Does "Kerry" have a last name?
Kerry Ellis. She's the standby right now, and will take over for Idina in January.
Kerry Ellis - cover Eliza in My Fair Lady Revival, Originated Meat in WWRY, toured in one of the leads (can't remember which) on last UK Miss Saigon tour.
She was a very good Ellen. her 'Now that I've Seen Her' blew me away.
She was also Fantine recently too.

Figured it would be obvious who it was.

Kerry Ellis is amazing, her Fantine in Mis was out of this world

I can't imagine Idina winning for such a lackluster, mediocre performance.
Hopefully this year Tonya Pinkins will get her revenge, but my money is on Elena Rogers.
