"Elphaba is a hopeful in search of defying gravities and Idina offers that with perfections."
I'm sorry, that makes no sense.

She was a Musical Theater Studies major in the Steinhardt School of Education. I noticed that in her bio as well...seems odd to me.

I don't think it's fair to overanalyze a performance that is shortened for TV. She's expected to go out and just perform the climax of Elphaba's emotionally turbulent Act I maturation. Not to mention that the entire bit was chopped from nearly 10 minutes to barely 4 minutes, minus Kristen. It's tough to go out on national TV and live up to people's standards. I think she did a wonderful job, and her eyes were so desperate. This is why I try not to overanalyze theatre performers doing bits on TV. I'm just happy to see them! Updated On: 11/20/03 at 12:53 AM
