Idina at Town Hall

Did anyone else go tonight?
I thought it was a fantastic concert. She sounded incredible, and was really cute.

For anyone interested, she sang almost all the songs off of her new album, plus the songs "Here", "Roxanne", "No Day But Today", "For Good", "Defying Gravity", and some random medley stuff that was integrated into her stories. This was the first time I'd ever seen her in concert, and I was blown away.

I went to the Washington DC one on the 23rd, sounds the same as yours.

She was F***ing Amazing! Roxanne was the best in my opinion, followed by For Good, which she did a capella for us.

Not only that, but she was hilarious. I hope this is not the last time I see her in concert.

Roxanne was in-freaking-credible. She did For Good a capella for us, too. She had some really funny ad libs, and for some reason, was really into stroking the carpet.

The literal carpet, dear.

Dirty!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Guys. The actual, blue, Persian-looking carpet. Seriously, people.

re: Idina at Town Hall

I was there with my friend. I'm a bit tired, so I won't write much, but I will say that she was amazing. I've seen Idina in Wicked and SWIWS and such, but I've never seen her in an actual concert, so this was definitely a treat. I agree, Roxanne was out of this world. So was Defying Gravity for the encore, Here, Brave (my favorite new song of hers), and all of her stories. Loved the wedding singer bit. And there was this whole thing about how she never got a bat mitzvah because she dropped out of Hebrew school...anyway, she ended up singing her the little prayer she would have wanted to sing at her bat mitzvah. And it led into this really cute thing about her sister Cara. Idina looked absolutely beautiful too, in a tight pink dress with ruffles at the bottom. Some of the questions that were asked when she asked some people to ask her questions were a little interesting though..."Are you and Kristin still friends?" and "Where's the rug from?" meaning the rug she was laying on. But hey, it was a great concert. I would go see her again in concert in a heartbeat, it was so good.

Haha, she should know that she still *can* have a bat mitzvah if she wants one. My aunts weren't allowed to even go to Hebrew school and each had them later in life in their 50s.

Wonder if she'll do a concert in Chicago, sounds like it was great.
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland
