After seeing his work in Angels in America, I am thoroughly convinced that he could have done justice to Jonathan Larson's amazing work. What do you guys think?

Any director other than Columbus would have been preferable.

I think the main problem was in casting- not direction.

They needed a younger cast.

Though I dont think many people feel the way I do.

I think casting was the #2 biggest problem, just behind Columbus.

I think the main problem was the cinematization, or lack thereof. The filmmakers should have taken a different, creative approach (i.e. CHICAGO) and not a literal adaptation. Like EVITA, it didn't feel like a movie at times, but an overblown music video.

It was filmed like a TV movie. God it is horrible. In every way shape and form. I still think Baz would have done a great job.
