Good snowy morning all.
I have read/watched some reviews of If/Then in which reviewers mentioned confusion due to a lack of song list in the Playbill. I've only seen the show with a song list included in the Playbill so I wondered if anyone knew when the change came about? I can imagine it was confusing without it, though it's funny to see a song listed and the character singing it as Liz/Beth ... or sometimes Beth/Liz
Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

I don't get how people were confused by he two stories. I did see the show when they had the song list already in the playbill, but I only glanced at it very quickly and not long enough for it to be a help during the actual show. I thought they made it very clear which storyline was which. James Snyder was in one and wasn't in the other, that seemed like a big enough clue for me. In the beginning when the story first splits, she's either with LaChanze or Anthony Rapp. I feel like people that were confused just didn't actually pay enough attention. She was a teacher in one and a city planner in the other. Very different jobs. Anthony Rapp had a boyfriend in one and got Idina pregnant in the other. The book wasn't that great, but confusing it wasn't.
If I remember correctly, a song list was added this past fall...I was surprised bc when the show first opened there was no song list (as expected). NEXT TO NORMAL did not have one...
Thanks! I should clarify, personally I wasn't confused at all by the show's plot.
The confusion I meant to cite on behalf of the reviewers was that when a song started sometimes they couldn't tell if they were hearing a reprise or a new song. I do think if you weren't paying attention and got lost, that the song list wouldn't really make that much of a difference.
