... because Opera North are doing Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing and Let 'em Eat Cake just in time for November's event.
I've seen Opera North do other obscure musicals by great composers before (Kurt Weill's LoveLife and One Touch of Venus, and Shostakovich's attempt at a Broadway-type musical Paradise Moscow) and they're usually as good as their art-work.
It's touring around Leeds, Nottingham, Salford, Newcastle and even that well-known northern city London.
