and you could save only one, which would you save?
What do you think is the most important piece of dramatic literature for future generations?
I was thinking about this, I would probably pick something of Shakespeare's. There's a reason why we still read his works today.
What would you pick?

Just for the irony of it I'd choose Lanford Wilson's BURN THIS.
I'll tell you what i wouldn't pick, Copacabana.
maybe Angels in America

This is an impossible question, but I do agree for the sake of Western Civ I would pick something from Shakespeare---how about Julius Caesar---still relevant as it was in the 1590's.

I would Pick RENT bc it has such a strong message and It's a show I feel everyone should see
It is kind of in the process of being burned with the closing coming in a couple of months (I don't want it to close)

Hey liverpool lay off Coolkid. He likes RENT and if you want to get into a discussion about what constitues GOOD theater well that's one thing but there is nothing productive or worthwhile about just shooting down someone's opinion for no apparent reason.

Well if you were around you would see why people are shooting down CoolKid right and left.
rent just needs to die and people just need to let it.
I need to read it, but The Little Dog Laughed, just because it makes me happy.
Or the obvious answer, Hamlet.

No sorry didnt get the "hate on coolkid" memo. And liverpool if you want rent to die so bad then take it off your lists of favorite shows............oh yeah now what I found you out oh yeahhhhhhhhh i got you yeahhhhhhhhh
i like the show, BUT IT'S TIME FOR IT TO GO.
it's become a shell of it's former self. an empty husk. What rent is today is almost a joke.
Not that I've read many plays (but working on it!), but I'd say something Shakespeare because, as ahmelie said, there's a reason his work is still studied today. Of the Shakespeare I've read, I'd say Julius Caesar.

Liverpool dont get me wrong, every time I see Rent I need to be held back from jumping up on stage and kicking some butt to some of those undeserving actors up there. But to say its a shell of its former self? Not by a longshot. It is maybe two mediocre actors in the show at any given time. So I think you are exaggerating.
ok continue delluding yourself then george.
