Agreed with Schmerg about Gary Morris (and I've said it before here earlier); Morris' "interpretation" of Valjean is simply to mimic Colm Wilkinson's bizarre (but compelling) vocal mannerisms as closely as he can. Dude, he's from Ireland, you're from Texas...what's up with the brogue?

Morris is the reason I didn't recommend the CSR for a primary recording. Yeah.
IIRC the Cosette and Thenardiers were pretty bad as well.

The 10th Anniversary is my #1 choice
CSR is #2 due to it's completeness and of course ANTHONY WARLOW!

My all-time favorite is the 1991 Paris Revival recording.
But if I had to choose a recording in English, it would be the 10th Anniversary Concert recording. Then again, I don't think anyone should be without the Original Concept recording, either.
All three are absolutely wonderful.
