Imitation Tony

Christine Ebersole, Mary Louise Wilson and Frank Langella all won Tony Awards for portraying someone that could be watched on film.

Are the Tonys going to become like the Oscars and award every imitation that comes around?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson surpass imitation. What I can manage to do of Little Edie is an imitation. What Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson do is eerie to watch. They both become these women, or two women in the case of Christine Ebersole. As far as I'm concerned, that's good acting. To completely become someone else. Maybe you have a film of them to watch and maybe you create them yourself, but that inhabitation of another body is why they won the Tony.
