What is with the doorman, Kevin?
I went to see "Boy from Oz" and he told me, since I was 6'6" that I couldnt stand in front. And he was kind of rude.
And he was there for "DRS" and made me stand in the back again and was asking if I was stalking Norbert because he said I had been there two nights before (I am from Dallas, just got in that day).
Where do they find these guys? How can you get on their good side?

Kevin's kinda of a joker. Don't read too much into it. He really works hard to keep the DRS cast safe and I respect him for that.

Am I the only one who has never had a run-in with him?
People have had both good and bad run ins with him. So have I. However, I do distinctly remember a very nice gesture when he let these two children (they must have been tweleve or so) backstage so they could get autographs from John Lithgow.
There was a whole thread on this guy a few months back. He's a quirky one, that's for sure.
I think Kevin is great. I can understand why people make think he's a jerk, but most of the time, he's really just joking.
Yeah, I've had some ups and downs w/ Kevin, but I think I've finally realized that he is usually joking, and it's actually lots of fun to give it back to him.
I went to the DRS stage door... and he wasn't there...
Did he really ask you if you were stalking Norbert? That's hilarious. I would have been like, "actually, yes. Do you happen to have his home address? I'd greatly appreciate your help."

Why would someone stalk Norbert of all people? Hugh Jackman I can understand....maybe John Lithgow. But who is Norbert Leo Butz to anyone off 45th street?

Some people like Kevin probabaly think that people like us are to obsessed with stagedooring. I entriely doubt it. It must be scary for a married guy like Norbert to be stalked. If I was him, I would be a little cautious. I remember seeing Sweet Charity last wensday and someone on staff asked me how many times I have seen the show. Its amazing what people put you through.
I wonder if he's related to Loren, who works at the stage door of the Curran Theatre in SF.

Norbert Leo Butz is not marrid. He is dating Michelle Federer who plays Nessa in Wicked. I also had a nasty time with the doorman, while he didnt say anything he was pretty rude. I tried taking a picture and he was in the door... so now I have a picture of him, I will try and post.
Thats not Kevin lol
Edit: No clue who that is. Kevin is an older guy.

Oh and Yankeefan, my best efforts are being used to make sure Norbert becomes a household name. Soon people up to 50th Street will know his name by heart!

Well then I guess Kevin was out that day, but that doorman was very rude as well. I saw it August 5th, does anyone know who this doorman is?

Wow! I have seen Kevin give me looks all the time. He thinks that I am crazy when I pass by the theater once in a while to get somewhere. You have to give him credit though. Its sort of weird to be hanging near the stagedoor every once in a while. Its almost like he thinks that people are so obsessed with the show and its people. Very protective guy indeed.
Well he knows people like myself, Westernsky, and WRQ are DRS enthusiasts but I cannot say he's never been very rude to me. I guess he was just being a joker that night. Or maybe he's seen the Wicked fanatics and is fearful DRS could turn into that?

Maybe he will stop being annoyed at people if the regulars backed of on seeing the show for a couple of months. It feels sort of like someone is sneaking on your show when they come stage dooring every once in a while. DRS is a great show, but I cant see myself seeing it again (unless a huge casting change has been made). I know its great (I love it), but I have heard ushers complain that to many theatergoers are seeing shows to many times. It sometimes is a huge death sentence. I almost got killed at Sweet Charity. Thank god I said I only saw it once (Ernie Sabella was the reason I saw it again).

BfO, I am not understanding your post. Kevin has never been overtly unkind or rude to 'regulars'. Just because we see the show alot should not make him feel annoyed. It is not like we stage door every night (from my understanding there are no constant 'Scoundrels' at the stage door every night. I can't see how this plays into this discussion. I am sure the producers enjoy us spending our money every time lol
But back on topic, when I become rich, Kevin will be my bodyguard. No question about it!

Oh, please. You think he's paranoid because of the example of Wicked? The previous tenant of the Imperial was The Boy From Oz 'Nuff said.
Ah yes, Plum. I was not there for that but I understood the "Ozlots" caused quite a stir. Some interesting info: Kevin was thanked by Hugh Jackman during his Best Actor speech. He (Kevin) takes great pride in that.
