Hmm..not sure how to comment on that quote...

But I must agree, that's one spooky avatar....

offers people a chance to laugh and cry part right"... out of pain, confusion, and just going "what the ****..?"

Oy, LittleWing. You had me thinking that he actually said that. I was looking up and down the page for it.

"It's hard as I think back….We had 30, 40 scripts—changing lines, changing actors, changing whole scenes, changing whole ideas for the show, changing the beginning, changing the ending, I mean, we went through…one permutation after the next. It was quite amazing." —Director/writer Joseph Brooks, on the creative process behind the show"

One of the scripts that was thrown out must have contained the plot, because there sure wasn't one the night I saw it.

Is William Finn going to sue Brooks for stealing from "A New Brain"?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

"It is scary to think what was discarded"

I bet there was a song called "Everytime a bell rings, an angel gets its wings"

so, i was watching the In my life opening night vid. on Broadway.com and noticed that Jessica's character sings a song where she says "I know these bales of hay are going to be there..." What is that referring too? I don't get the lyric.

I think this show was better than CATS. yes when i saw cats i was like 8 but i watched the video over the summer and i think in my life was sooo much better. I also think its alot better than some other shows on broadway.

CATS was just a huge disappointment...I heard SO much about it and couldn't wait to see it in chi-town...then did...and was totally mortified. I hope I have a chance to see 'In My Life'...not as a chance to 'gloat' over the failure, but a chance to judge for myself. If it lasts until December, I'll see it.

Are you seriously THAT stupid!? Jessica looks like a horse!

No, honestly, I have no idea what it means anyway. I'm guessing it is a phrase no longer used - but fit with the rhythm of the song...or Brooks is trying (albeit unsuccessfully) to coin a new phrase.

The bales of hay line is in reference to that postulate that some philosopher made that if a horse sees two equally good bales of hay on either side of him he will starve to death trying to decide which one, and Jessica's character thinks that it is fate that JT knows the obscure postulate, or something along those lines.
