Some of you may already know this, but I just found out and thought this was pretty neat.
Lea Salonga (Kim in Miss Saigon OBC) was the singing voice of Jasmine (Disney's Aladdin) and Mulan (Disney's Mulan).
I remember when I first heard the Miss Saigon [edit: OBC Recording], I thought her voice sounded oddly familiar but I couldn't place it. Guess that's solved! LOL
~ i'm willing to bet that the majority on this board know this already.
wow, i didn't know that. Kind of makes me want to rewatch both.
so i guess im in the minority of those unaware of that.

While we're talking about disney movies, Judy Kuhn is the singing voice of Pocahontas.
~ i think there was a whole thread dedicated to this awhile back that listed all the famous celebrities who have voiced and/or sung for various animated films.

wow, i didnt know she was jasmine. i knew about mulan though.
Yeah.....A lot of people already know that.
No worries though
we still love you :)
I knew she was Jasmine's singing voice and Mulan's, but was she Mulan's regular voice as well or only her singing voice?
If we start talking about Broadway stars singing on animated films, Liz Callaway is Anastasia's singing voice, Angela Lansbury is her grandmother, and Bernadette Peters is the Aunt. I think Liz Callaway also sang for Beauty and the Beast.
Lea was only the singing voice for Mulan. Ming-Na Wen was the speaking voice.
Lea Salonga, along with Jodi Benson, Susan Egan & Judy Kuhn are also on The Disney Princess CD's. There's a tea party one and a Christmas one. Yes, I have a 5 year old niece.
I remember when I first heard the Miss Saigon soundtrack
You couldn't have. It doesn't exist.
(Sorry, had to...)
D'oh!
Sorry. Allow me to bash my head repeatedly with bricks...
