I am auditioning for Into the Woods soon, and Jack would be the only character suited to my range, body type, and age. So, I was thinking of songs to sing that I already have worked with my voice teacher on. I am leaning towards "Johanna" from Sweeney Todd, because it has the same feel as the songs of Into the Woods and fits my range. Other songs that I am considering are Somewhere Out There, This is the Moment, Corner of the Sky, Man of La Mancha (I, Don Q), Kite (from YAGMCB), and Too Darn Hot. What are your suggestions?

i think the top three should be johanna, corner of the sky and the kite. the others are too different. johanna doesn't go high enough to show you off if you want jack... i would do corner of the sky.

Corner of the Sky or Somewhere Out There. The others like the Kite dont always show off so much.

It's got to show of range, because "Giants in the Sky" (Jack's big number) shows off range. But it can't be too much of a mature song. "Corner of the Sky" is a good song, but it's done too often. "Somewhere out there" is good. Do NOT do "This is the moment" or "The Kite".

I played Jack in my High School's production of ITW. I had to audition with Giants in the Sky. I would say use a song with a big range. You have to hit a "F" at the end of the song so I would say use a song with a "F" or even a high "G" in it. Don't know what songs to use really. Good Luck though.

Go with The Kite or maybe Grow for Me

And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before... After the Sky. -Into the Woods (Jack)

Make sure the song you sing is not one that everyone knows and has heard. You want to stand out. Are you taking voice lessons? If you are I would recommend asking your teachers. Lost in the Wilderness from Children of Eden shows off good male range in my opinion but I am not sure how common it is. I wouldnt' do anything that is on broadway right now. I hope that helped somewhat PM me if you wish.

I played the part of Jack recently, and I auditioned with the song "Mooning" from Grease.

What about the night was alive from Titanic the musical... The middle section(I don't have exact measures right now) I think that would be appropriate for JACK!

I just finished up playing Jack at the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City and I would, believe it or not, suggest using "Giants..." for your audition- If you go in there and nail it with a unique interpretation of the piece, you may just catch the director's eye and show him that you are indeed right for the role!
And Just for reference, "Giants in the Sky" actually goes up to an F# (F sharp) at the end of the song and sits on F sharps in the last verse.
Good Luck and have fun!
