Hello!! I'm auditioning for Into the woods at my school and I'm having some trouble deciding on what to do. I want to be the witch so bad and want a song and a monologue that would be perfect for the witch. All my art teachers think I would play a phenomenal witch, but the director is a guest director who doesn't know my abilities other then few videos my musical theatre director has sent him. My range is around a B2-F6, I have a very weighted darker tone. I need a song composed by Stephen Sondheim only and a 2 min monologue. As of right now I'm thinking of doing the ending of could I leave you from follies, but have been told that it doesn't show off enough of what my voice can bring because it's very sing talk like even though it does follow a pattern similar to the last midnight. As for a monologue I'm stuck and would love to be recommended some that really can show off some acting. Please someone help me!! Would be much appreciated!! Also if you think could I leave you would be a good choice let me know!!
