If the balcony is the only option for a poor theater-loving student,is the balcony worth it or way too high and distant? Cheap seats at the st.james any better?

since this just started previewing, it may take awhile to get an answer specific to the lyceum ...
... but ...
i sat in the first row of the balcony at BAM's harvey theater in february, and the view was ok. to be honest, i actually wish i had sprung for better seats, but for a "poor student" it's definitely worth the trade off. i couldnt see as much of the actors' facial expressions as i wanted to, but other than that it was fine. now that i think about it, i probably should have just brought my opera glasses!
the witches' scene alone is worth the price of admission, but top to bottom this production is brilliant!
I saw it from the back row of the balcony at BAM, which is pretty high up and far away. I couldn't see facial expressions but it was still amazing, worth seeing from any seat.
