Is Raul still in Chitty Chitty?

I saw the show last night (Tue), and Raul wasn't on as Caractacus. Instead, Matt Loehr was on and he was terrific. I checked the Playbill over and over and discovered something strange. Inside the Playbill, Raul still receives top billing, his headshot and bio still appear, however, he is not listed as part of the cast. There were also no inserts announcing his absence. Any ideas?

I saw CHITTY again tonight...and saw Matt Loehr as well (who I thought was seriously lacking,) but Raul is still in the show - he's on vacation.

re: Is Raul still in Chitty Chitty?

I'm debating going to check out one of the understudies this week... but.... I'll probably be heartbroken.

Anyway, Raúl's contract is for a year, so you have plenty of time to see him. He's back next Tuesday, I believe. The same thing happened with some of the Playbills during Erin's vacation. She wasn't listed, and people were thinking she was out of the show for good - I saw it on Sunday, and she was still out, but there WAS a slip for her, and her headshot was there, etc.

(Can we get a Hilton House Staff confirmation on the vacation? I know you're on here and you know I love you!)

re: Is Raul still in Chitty Chitty?

Raul is on vacation. This was Matt's 1st time going on, and I think he and Rick Hilsabeck will be splitting the week (or however long Raul is out)

as for the stuffer situation, there were no stuffers for Raul this week or for Erin last week because Playbill was supposed to have gotten us fully-updated issues for the week listing the proper cast info. not sure whose fault it was, but it's possible some of the regular Playbills found their way into the stacks. the vast majority of Playbills given out these past few weeks have been correct. just to be safe, stuffers were used during the last few days of Erin's absence.
