I know you can't get them through MTI, but is there any other way?
Shows that are still on Broadway usually withhold the rights. Not only are they still on Broadway but they both have touring productions. And I'm pretty sure these two shows are no exception.
But it is possible to do Wicked or Lion King selections.
I don't think you can either of those through MTI.
I think you can get Lion King Jr. through MTI and Disney, but that's probably it.
There is no Lion King Jr. Not with MTI, anyway. The rights for Wicked are most definitely through MTI, although I don't know about The Lion King. Either way, you can't obtain rights for them because, as was previously posted, both shows are still currently running on Broadway and have national tours going about.
One of the main reasons it will be a while until your town can do a production of Les Miserables (not the high school edition, the full-length Les Mis) is because it is constantly touring. They only recently closed their last national tour and now another one is starting this year.
