Has anyone heard the 1997 cast recording of 'Zombie Prom'? Is it good?

Having played 'Eddie Flagrante' in the (now-defunct) Young Artists Repertory Company's production in residence at the Westchester Broadway Theatre this past May, I can wholeheartedly attest to the cast recording being ... DEFINITELY WORTHWHILE! The cast is stellar - Murphy and Muenz especially! I love the show and the score - so quirky, zany, smart, and hummable! It's all the more enjoyable if you're listening to it 'just to listen to it' - For reference purposes, it's gold. Get it, get, get it! Hope this helps!

I love it, ad did you know there was a movie of it?? www.zombiepromthemovie.com its only a short film but looks amazing and has won LOTS of awards!

Yes. I watched it last night. It's available for free download on iTunes. I liked the songs in the movie. This is the first exposure I have had to the score. RuPaul did a GREAT job in the film. I wonder why this wasn't a full-blown feature!

I like the cast recording a lot. The movie didn't do much for me (they left out a lot of my favorite bits of music). But the score is so silly, and fun... anyone know why it flopped in NY?

The reason the movie is so short is because they didn't have the budget. The director basically created the film as is to have a piece to show to film studios to try to get funding for a feature-length version.
