I saw a clip from Woman In White and the set looked incredible. I though I saw a giant train zoom across the stage. Can someone describe the set (photos?) and clarify?
It's not really a train, it is a line of actors on roller skates that represent the train. And it crashes down, or rather is lowered down slowly, but is supposed to represent a crash, onto the stage from above the audiences head. Spectacular!
I can't remember the site I saw the clip on. It was a commercial for the show. Anyone have a URL? I want to see it again.

There is no "train" persay, the set is very inventive, that's all I'll say...the show is AMAZING by the way...
Wait, please tell me that was a Starlight Express joke Sueleen!

What is it with Andrew Lloyd Webber and rollerskates?
However, unlike Starlight Express, this sounds like a good idea. Like Thesbijean saidn, inventive.
Yes, that's a very funny Starlight Express joke from Sueleen. The train is a projection. The entire set, pretty much, is projections on constantly (not to mention pointlessly and irritatingly) moving screens.
Ya know, jokes just aren't funny if you have to explain them. I give up.
From Webber's track record Sueleen, it really could have been true. I hear Maria Friedman wears a cat costume during the curtain call.

And a giant, gaudy looking chandelier slowly descends from the ceiling at the end of Act 1.

Sueleen, please tell me that "jokes aren't funny if you have to explain them" is an "I'm 14" joke!
The train effect in WIW is amazing. The girls in front of me actually screemed and ducked.
Good lord, really? What is it, 1898?
