Posted: 2/15/09 at 10:59amI think it was first performed in a revue in New York in the early '60s, perhaps a Julius Monk show at the Upstairs at the Downstairs.

Posted: 2/15/09 at 11:28amCy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh wrote it as a pop song fro Tony Bennett in 1958. After that it was recorded and sung in supper clubs and boites, but wasn't written for a show.
