It's Time For Chita Rivera!

I would love to see the wonderful Chita Rivera back on the broadway stage. I am hoping the rumors of a new autobiograhical musical ( a la Elaine Strich) are true. That Puerto rican hussy needs to be shaking it down . It would be nice if someone like George Wolf would do the kind of career exposition with her as he did with Strich. And I am sure with kander and Ebb hopefully giving her great maerial it would be a awesome show.

I havet to say the last time I saw Chita live was in Casper the Musical, in Dallas. I was shocked that she would be in a show like that. She was great after the show and talk to me and my friends for a long time. And her two dogs kept licking my shoes. I would love to see her back in a worth while show.

A one woman show with Chita Rivera! I can't think of anything better than sitting for two hours watching a legend like her. This is just a rumor, though??

Has anyone heard if Miss Chita's one woman show is actually a go?

It's supposedly workshopping in Tampa over the summer.

Loved her in NINE even though many thought she was miscast.
Have any of you seen young, young Chita on the Judy Garland Show? She's cool.
I saw her in THE VISIT at The Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
Wonder what she says about that experience.

Chita Rivera was a star pupil at SAB and caught George Balanchine's eye. Had she stayed with the company I am sure she would have been right alongside Tallchief, LeClercq, Adams and Wilde as one of the greatest American ballerinas!

Very cool to think about. She might have become the first Puerto Rican Ballerina. I guess she also caught Robbins eye and that catapulted her to super stardom.
I attended SAB Miriam, did you?
