WHOO HOO! I CAN FINALLY SEE IT! You totally made my day!
Is it just me living under a rock or have there really been no auditions for the show yet?

"No casting has been announced for the upcoming tour."
I still think it would be AWESOME and great casting if stephanie J. Block got to part of Elphaba on the tour. Since BFO is closing, it would be perfect. She already has experience in the role and i would love to see her sing defying gravity. (can't wait to see wicked again when it comes to chicago)
That's exactly what I was gonna type CAJ!
Can you read my mind from where you are?
two great minds think-alike
if you pick up a copy of this week's BackStage - you will find casting notices for the tour and broadway replacements about to happen soon.
according to bway in chicago its playing the ford center may 5 - june 12.
wicked in chicago
Anyone know if it's coming to DC?

Any Columbus or Ohio dates set yet?
Casting for the tour has been going on for a month now. I have a strong inkling that Stephanie will get Elphaba. I'm interested as to who will be Glinda.

It would be a dream come true if Stephanie got the part of Elphaba on tour over on Broadway. She is my favorite actress currently on Broadway and it would be the perfect role for her!
If Stephanie was Elphaba, I would try to see it, but I have always been disappointed with tours after seeing the show on Broadway (TMM, for example).

Well, the show will probably lose some no matter what. Most all of them do.
since the wizard wears a wig do you guys think that an 18 year old (me) could audition for/ be cast as the wizard? I have played older before as is evidenced in my icon (me as bill clinton). Or should i just go for Fiyero

I heard a rumor that Glinda will be Kendra Kessebaum.

Most details will come AFTER the casting.
As much as I don't like Wicked (no flames, please!), I'm happy it's starting its tour in Toronto. Toronto's theatre industry has been suffering these past two seasons, so its place as the "third-largest theatre scene in the English-speaking world" has been under threat. But it's nice to know that producers still see it as a very viable city for theatre.
I'm told by a good friend in the cast (B-way) that they aren't casting until after the summer, when all of the dancers who are working for the summer return to NYC - at least as far as the ensemble and minor roles are concerned - I'm sure we can expect to hear about the leads before then...
There has been no casting thus far for any of the roles. Any rumors flaoting around about the possibilities for leads are just rumors and totally unfounded. Nothing at all has been decided and nobody has yet to spoken to about lead roles.

Orion,
Perhaps we SHOULD listen to the Renthead. Haven't you learned the Golden rule of Broadway, yet? A Renthead is never wrong and they are the most reliable sources around.. Just like the Rent cast is the most well paid cast on Broadway.
.. insert laughter................... HERE
How could I have forgotten one of the cardinal rules of theater> Thanks for reminding me.
