JOE ICONIS show at NYU This Weekend

Hey dudes! Joe Iconis here. Just wanna let you know about this show I'm invovled with at NYU. The Steinhardt musical theater program is doing a musical theater piece called "LIT, MESSY, AND NOT AT ALL ASHAMED," comprised of 18 of my tunes. The cast is great, the band is sick, and I'm playing piano for the show- if you're around, come check it out!

New York, NY, March 27th, 2008—“Lit And Messy And Not At All Ashamed,” a musical theater piece constructed around the work of Larson and Kleban Award-winning writer JOE ICONIS, will play The Provincetown Playhouse from March 27th – 30th. The musical features direction by John Simpkins and choreography by Jennifer Werner.

LIT AND MESSY AND NOT AT ALL ASHAMED is a soul-baring bit of bloody rock’n’roll theater. It is an electric evening of songs written by Joe Iconis (The Black Suits; The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks) and directed by John Simpkins. It is moments of quiet revelation and deafening simplicity. It is an ensemble of living, breathing, creatures at a crossroads in their lives. These are animals not afraid to give you everything they got, but be warned- they demand nothing less in return. So come to be rocked and dare to be moved when they shine the light on all the dark places. As the wise men so frequently say, when you stop being scared, you almost certainly find yourself Lit and Messy and Not At All Ashamed.
