we know who you are...these comments are false and uncalled for.
I'll try, later on tonight. That site is down temporarily.
Ok, how was the last performance??
no offense retro because i'm sure it's not you but I haven't had the most pleasurable experiences with the staff there either

Autumn...one suggestion...learn how to spell...
Any reviews yet???
And yay for the win! I was so happy for them!
The show was...as strong as ever. Someone asked me if it was more "emotional" or if the "actors were more into it" since it was the last show...but I can say is that the actors were on top of their game every time I saw them, so there was no difference on the last night.
the puerto rican parade was going on outside so the music from that could be heard inside the theater. but the actors were great, the curtain call was a bit longer than usual.
i have never seen the theater as packed as it was last night, i have to wait in line for 15 minutes to enter the theater. vanessa redgrave also was in the audience....which was cool, she went to see it right before she went to the tonys.

from the AP's coverage of the Tony Awards:
Within hours of its final curtain Sunday, "Journey's End," R.C. Sherriff's anti-war drama won the revival play award as producer Bill Haber came on stage with the entire cast to accept the war.

I'm so glad that they finally got a packed house! the journey's end boys definitely deserve it - I can't believe it's gone now.
I'm confused...is it one person or our group as a whole? We like to think wer'e a very nice bunch...however, you MUST understand that because the Belasco is in dire disrepair, and hasn't been renovated in more than 50 years, we constantly have angry patrons venting about the Bathroom facilities, tiny inner and outer lobbies, A/c and heating problems. Personally I sympathize completely, but the Shubert Org. is in charge of this, and some people take out their frustration on the staff. We really try to do our best under the circumstances. When the theatre was built 100 years ago, it was farmland. The street noise is unavoidable, the floorboards under the carpet are soooo creaky,,blah, blah, blah. We have to work with it, 'ya know.

(possible spoilers)hi mint: it was lovely seeing you there (again), Sunday.
The buzz was fantastic for the last performance, and I have to say, as a (fan and employee), the unfortunate mayhem and extremely loud music during act I (from the PR parade), distracted the concentration of some of the actors, (who could blame them ?)and it was perversely fun hearing them scream their lines, and forget chunks of dialogue. However, I love them and their devotion, and the NYC police scurried around and quieted things down for ACt II, (thank god). We loved Stark's final death scene! Really over the top (in a good way)! We were out on the street, hearing music blast from 45th st., and were wondering what the heck was going on w/chris. plummer and the Lyceum crew?! Well, it's always a good theatre story for the future, right??
forgot: since your'e such a fan of the prod., you might want to look at YouTube. type in Journeys End, and up will pop several amazing live action film of the REAL trenches during WWI. Your heart will break. Stunning, historical documents...
woohoo, ticket sales for journey's end jumped to 67% this week!

this also doesn't include the sold out last night. congrats to the show, what a great way to end with a bang.
I finally caught Journey's End for its last show, and my God...it really was as stirring and magnificent a piece of theatre as I'd heard on these boards. I can't rave about it enough (which saddens me because now I can't recommend it to everyone I know). I can't remember so many consistently fine and consistently moving performers together on one stage, and with material that really stands the test of time much better than I'd expected. It really got to me. Obviously I can't compare the cast yesterday with themselves earlier in the run, but it was clear that they were all doing superb work. I thought it odd at first that I couldn't detect any visible signs from the cast that it was the final show--especially with the absence of any kind of announcement at the end--but it spoke to their professionalism that they just went out and did their (amazing) jobs.
But ha, that damn Puerto Rican Day parade...not to get on the bad side of any Puerto Ricans here (because it looked like a good time outside the theater), but boy was it obnoxious from inside. If it was distracting for me (for about 15 minutes) I can only imagine how the actors felt...but, true to form, they weren't thrown off in any way that I could tell. Funny to hear you mention that it actually did affect them, retro--as a first time viewer, I really couldn't pick up anything off.
Anyway, my friend (who I took along) and I were extremely and genuinely moved by this outstanding production and were thrilled to see it win its Tony. A big, big congrats and thank you to everyone involved with the production and the house who made this such an unforgettable show.
Glad that the audience didn't notice any (errors!?). Yes, that's True professionalism, and not the first time actors have had to perform in adverse conditions. That's the whole point of theatre vs. movies or tv, it's LIVE !!! Different every night!
