I just saw Garden State and wondered if anyone knows what Jackie Hoffman is doing these days. She is so funny! Her facial expressions in that scene are priceless. Will she be doing Hairspray in Vegas?
God I love her! I wish I could have seen The Kvetching Continues...

She's currently doing her adaptation of "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" at 45 Bleeker called "David and Jodi and David and Jackie" through the 25th.

That is so strange. I just was watching a documentary that talked about B&C&T&A and showed some clips and I thought, "I have never seen that film." I have not thought of it in years and here it crosses my path twice today! It must mean I need to rent it or get my ass to New York and see the hysterical Jackie do her spin on it.
Is she doing the Hairspray movie?

I don't think ANY casting has been announced for the film, so we'll have to just wait and see. Though given that she was the only member of the OBC who truly embodied the Waters sensibility, they'd be crazy not to cast her.
You're once, twice, three times a lady...
Jackie: I made you something. It's a shirt.
Zach: Thats... That's good, thank you.
Jackie: Will you try it on now?
Zach: Now?
Jackie: Well, in case I have to fix it before you leave again and we don't see you for another nine years. I wanna make sure it fits.
I love Jackie Hoffman
I read an interview with Jackie Hoffman that Corine posted on ATC yesterday. You might want to check that out.

I was walking through Chelsea a week or so ago, when I was handed a postcard for "David and Jodi and David and Jackie". I don't usually take fliers from people on the street, but the woman looked familiar, though I couldn't place her right off. It took me a moment of talking with her to realize that Jackie herself was peddling the cards...
I once saw her finish signing autographs at Hairspray and then run down the street to use a payphone. Little things like that and handing out her own postcards make me predisposed to liking *her*. She's just a real person doing her thing (with great talent and humor, of course).
Thanks for plugging Jackie.
She is a comic genius.
Her interview will be up on my site today.

Am I as senile as I am starting to think I am? I *did* see it on ATC yesterday, too, didn't I? I'm starting to worry about my sanity.

It is up.
Let's hear it for Jackie!

I think All That Chat has a rule against too many redundancies and editing mistakes.
Or maybe it is considered unprofessional to post the same interview on three different sites?
It's a great interview.
Corine.... You just keep getting better.
Next time, ask what kind of underwear she's got on.
10 things we don't know about you? TEN? 10??!! Wow, talk about putting someone on the spot...and is it just me or is "Jackie attacks the part of the neurotic savagely sexy Alice, immortalized by the inimitable (too bad for Jackie) Dyan Cannon, who was Oscar nominated for the role." kind of a slam and rather an insult to Jackie?

That doesn't sound like anything Corine would write. That sounds like it came right off of the press release about the show, right? She wouldn't be so mean.
I do agree that Jackie Hoffman has some facial expressions!
Namo,
What you haven't taught her about being mean...
I have.
Namo is perceptive. On Theatermania, if you want to buy tickets to the show, the follow description comes up:
Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray, The Kvetching Continues, Garden State, Kissing Jessica Stein Obie Winner, Book of Liz) returns to the New York Stage with a never done before adaptation of the swingin' sexy sixties classic, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. Jackie attacks the part of the neurotic savagely sexy Alice, immortalized by the inimitable (too bad for Jackie) Dyan Cannon, who was Oscar nominated for the role.
Isn't there a word for that? Um, plagiarism maybe?
Yes, and what writer hasn't used the 'basic information' in their articles before?
Relax.
I'm married to a professional writer. Hell, I've been married to professional writers TWICE...for a grand total of 30 years. And if one thing has been engrained in my sensibilities, it's the importance of a) meticulous editing and formatting before showing something to the world, and b) crediting someone else's words when you use them, even if it is only a colorful phrase. That paragraph isn't even paraphrased. It was copied verbatim. Playing fast and loose undermines the integrity of those who take the profession seriously, and it offends me.
